Manchester City 2-3 AC Milan: Post-match analysis: The Citizens still can't spell the word win

In a friendly match on Sunday morning, Manchester City lost 3-2 to AC Milan. Still unable to spell victory during the pre-season in the United States.

Erling Haaland put Man City ahead but Milan pulled one back with Lorenzo Colombo scoring twice to give the Rossoneri a 2-1 lead at half-time.

The second half started with the “Sky Blues” attacking heavily and got an equalizer from James McAtee. But then young striker Marco Nasti came on as a super sub to score for Milan to win 3-2.

Next up, Man City face Barcelona and here are the talking points from the โปรโมชั่น ufabet game at Yankee Stadium.

Haaland is ready for the new season

With Norway not playing at Euro 2024, Erling Haaland has been given a much-needed break after a tough season with his club.

As pre-season kicks off, Haaland has shown little sign of weakness. His hunger remains the same, and his fit physique is a sign of how ready he is for the new season.

Although the main players who often feed him goals. Such as Kevin De Bruyne, Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva, are not in the team. It is not a problem for Haaland. Because the 24-year-old has scored in the past 2 matches.

Bob deserves a bigger role

Oscar Bobb has shone in pre-season, with his play reminding Man City fans of Phil Foden, with his positioning and playing style very similar.

Bobb excels in creating chances, coordinating with teammates. Dribbling and even finding his own shot. That’s where he got his 1 assist.

In fact, Bobb should have been the scorer if he had been sharper. After a one-two with Perrone, he got away to shoot but didn’t do well. The ball went out incredibly.

Over the past two games, Bobb has shown that he is too good to be used only late in games. So Pep Guardiola will have to think hard about how he plans to use the 21-year-old this season.

Phillips reiterates he should be released

After a disappointing display in the defeat to Glasgow Celtic. Kalvin Phillips was dropped to the bench to make way for promising midfield duo Maximo Perrone and Nico O’Reilly.

However, Phillips was given the chance to come on as a substitute in the second half to help the midfield, but he did little to help and almost contributed to the team’s goal.

Phillips made things difficult by rolling around the edge of his own penalty area and losing the ball. Thankfully, Marco Nasti missed the shot. But this was not the only time Phillips has been naughty. Perhaps Guardiola has seen enough to know that he can no longer afford to let the once-popular Leeds United midfielder go.

Ederson as captain

After being heavily linked with a move away from the club this summer, Pep Guardiola has confirmed in an interview that he wants to keep Ederson at the club. As he believes the quality of the goalkeeper is not easy to replace.

Guardiola then entrusted Ederson to return to the starting goal and also wear the captain’s armband, even though it made sense since he was the most senior player in the starting 11.

However, it is an indication of how much Guardiola wants to keep Ederson, so now it is up to him to decide what to do with his future amid a huge offer from Saudi Arabia.
